About Me

2015 was a BIG year, so let’s start there. A few days into the New Year, my significant other announced he was leaving, and abruptly moved out of the house I had bought for us less than a year earlier. All of a sudden it was just me, two seriously awesome dogs, and a half-empty brick cottage filled with a whole lot of boxes, sadness and a deep sense of WTF?

Stay with me…

Whether I felt prepared for it or not, I found myself at a pivotal crossroads. My little brick cottage was full of empty rooms that needed love and attention, and I desperately needed a project– a distraction. I have always loved interior design (and even took a course at DC’s Corcoran Arts Institute), so I knew I was up to the task. Room by room and project by project, I created bright new spaces filled with vibrant colors, playful fabrics and chic, budget-friendly flair. I worked with intention, and with each completed room the house started to feel like ME. Not only was it a fun, heart-lightening and healing process, but it made me feel empowered, grounded and just plain happy!

Around this same time, I also began a coaching certification program that completely changed my world. Teary-eyed but eager, I came to the coaching training and was held with loving care by my fellow coaches. I learned how to use my own energy and empathy to support clients, and it absolutely lit me up. AND, as I was simultaneously growing my coaching skills, healing from my breakup and feathering my nest, I also started a budget design blog for much-needed creative nourishment. One tentative blog entry on a snowy Sunday afternoon became another, and another, and soon I had amassed more than 60 posts on a variety of design (and life) topics. What started as a quest for creative expression actually brought me home to myself, and gave me the idea to start this coaching and home design practice we now know as The Interior Life.

Whew… All that in 2015!

Now fast forward. I’m an ICF-certified coach (ACC level) and am bursting with excitement that my skills in coaching and home design are married to help people achieve their own transformation. Looking back, I am fully convinced that the universe brought all of these things together in my life at a very specific moment to help me open up, break through and move forward.

What’s the lesson? Okay, shift happens, and it can be challenging. But we can absolutely move from transition to transformation, and have a really fun time doing it. Now, where to begin with your own life/home transformation? Contact me and let’s talk!
